Question:

I developed a stye in my left upper eyelid yesterday (i.e. May 10, 2022) and — wow — is it ever red and puffed up today! Were I to go out in public with my eye looking like this I’d scare people. I thought maybe putting on an eyepatch to cover it up might help me socially. However, I wonder how badly would that interfere with the natural process going on? Would some eyepatch substances be alright while others not?

Terrain answer:

Eye patch could potentially cut off the airflow which might slow healing. A warm compress may help, just water. Heat can help to expand the pores and let the body push the waste out more quickly. Fasting would be a good idea as well.
