Question:

I was reading an article for my daughter that talked about Native Americans (how they were super strong, with beautiful lean muscular bodies, strong teeth, dark thick hair, etc) unlike the Europeans of the time who often suffered of scurvy, rheuma, crooked spinea, teeth, etc.
Is there an explanation how and why these strong Native Americans died en masse when the first Europeans came “bringing” disease? How does the terrain model explain this peculiarity in history?

Terrain answer:

Those who write the history books get to write history however they please. Native Americans were murdered en masse. Smallpox “infected” blankets is a less bloody story line.
