What do we reckon humans ate in the beginning of time?

Question:

What do we reckon humans ate in the beginning of time? I’m assuming it was what ‘mother nature’s garden’ provided. We now know that we are biologically built to eat raw fruits and leafy greens, though I do wonder what the timelines are in regards to how and why we ended up cooking foods, drinking alcohol etc? How did we lose the knowledge and corrupt our biological way of eating? And why do poisonous/unhealthy natural foods even exist i.e. toad stools, nightshades etc?

Terrain answer:

Genesis 1:29 tells us what we ate “Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”
Mistakes in eating developed gradually over time as we moved further from our natural way of living and being. The same for the use of medicinal products and cooked foods. The more unsuitable things we eat the more we look for things to suppress the symptoms that are the consequence of those mistakes in eating.
Fermentation is a result of people living in areas where they did not have access to fresh foods. Fermentation allowed them to store foods for long periods. Same with eating starches, they can be stored for long periods, so as people moves away from their natural environment and diet these foods were able to be stored and grown in areas that are less suitable to our survival.
Mistakes compound over time.
Plants create various compounds to protect themselves from being eaten until they are ripe and ready to reproduce. The fruits of a nightshade are safe to eat once ripe. The chemicals in them protect the plant vines from being eaten prior to the fruit becoming mature.
There are many substances in nature, some are edible, others are not.
